Solemar SX25, compact maxi rib comfort with a sporty character

Maxi rib space, Mercury V8 power and a convertible deck define the compact and versatile Solemar SX25

The Solemar SX25 brings a surprisingly mature approach to the 25-foot RIB segment. Measuring 7.80 metres overall, it combines generous social areas, practical onboard solutions and lively performance within dimensions that remain relatively easy to manage. It is designed for owners who want to spend an entire day at sea without giving up the enjoyment of driving.

Although it is the entry model in the SX range, the term entry level does not fully describe what the boat offers. Its proportions, finishes and deck arrangement evoke larger maxi RIBs, while its compact size preserves the agility required for family outings, swimming trips and fast coastal passages.

A deep-V hull developed for balanced handling

The deep-V hull is one of the defining elements of the Solemar SX25. Under acceleration, the boat rises onto the plane quickly and maintains a composed, progressive running attitude. The bow works cleanly through the water, while the tubes contribute to a reassuring sense of stability as speed increases.

In tighter turns, the RIB heels gradually and follows a consistent line. The tubes provide additional support without making the handling feel abrupt, while the hull crosses its own wake with limited impact. This predictable behaviour should appeal not only to experienced drivers, but also to families looking for a secure and comfortable platform.

Mercury V8 power brings out its sporting side

The tested configuration was fitted with a 250 hp Mercury V8, a combination that reveals the more dynamic personality of the SX25. The boat reaches 20 knots effortlessly and continues to accelerate smoothly beyond 40 knots. During the test, it recorded a maximum speed of 42.7 knots and accelerated from standstill to 40 knots in 17 seconds.

These figures give the boat a lively character without making it unnecessarily demanding. Power delivery remains progressive, allowing the driver to move easily between relaxed cruising and a more energetic pace. A maximum of 300 hp can be installed, giving owners the opportunity to select a setup that suits their preferred style of navigation.

Fast cruising with sensible efficiency

At 20 knots and approximately 3,580 rpm, the recorded fuel consumption was 30.3 litres per hour, or around 1.5 litres per nautical mile. At 30 knots and 4,250 rpm, consumption increased to 43.3 litres per hour, while efficiency improved slightly to approximately 1.44 litres per nautical mile.

This ability to maintain a relatively high cruising speed without disproportionate fuel use extends the practical range of the boat. The SX25 is therefore not limited to short trips close to the marina, but can also undertake coastal passages at useful average speeds while keeping passengers comfortable.

The stern becomes the social centre of the boat

The aft deck is arranged around a large U-shaped sofa, an unusually generous solution for a RIB of this size. Adding the central table creates a proper dining area beneath the extendable T-top connected to the roll-bar. Lowering the table converts the entire space into a broad sun pad with room for several guests.

Behind the seating area, a swallowtail-style bathing platform wraps around the centrally mounted outboard. This configuration provides convenient access to the water and makes boarding easier after swimming, snorkelling or spending time in a secluded bay.

A helm station inspired by larger boats

The console features a clear and orderly layout, with the displays, throttle and main controls placed within easy reach. The driving position feels protected and natural, while the T-top provides useful shade without making the profile appear excessively heavy.

An additional forward-facing passenger seat has also been incorporated alongside the console. It is a practical feature that gives one guest a comfortable position while underway, without obstructing the side passages or reducing access between the bow and stern.

A separate relaxation area in the bow

The forward section contains a second sun pad. It is naturally smaller than the aft conversion, but still provides enough room for one or two people to relax away from the main cockpit.

Having dedicated sunbathing areas at both ends of the boat allows guests to spread out when anchored. Despite its compact dimensions, the SX25 offers several ways to enjoy the deck, moving from dining to sunbathing without requiring complex or time-consuming changes.

A private compartment improves day-long comfort

One of the less expected features is the compartment built into the console, which can serve as a changing area and can also accommodate a toilet. On a 25-foot RIB, the presence of a private enclosed space makes a meaningful difference, particularly for families, children and guests spending many hours onboard.

The technical capacity also supports longer days at sea. The boat carries two 130-litre fuel tanks and a 56-litre freshwater tank. It is approved for up to 12 people and holds a Category B certification, reinforcing its identity as more than a simple fair-weather tender.

Compact dimensions with a genuine maxi rib experience

With a beam of 2.96 metres and a dry displacement of 1,600 kilograms, the Solemar SX25 retains dimensions that support relatively straightforward ownership while offering spaces and features normally associated with larger maxi RIBs.

Its appeal does not depend on one dramatic feature. Instead, it comes from the way the individual elements work together, including predictable handling, flexible deck spaces, strong outboard performance and practical details intended for real days on the water.
