More than 10,000 miles, a succession of boating communities and an electric water scooter ready to be tested in its natural environment. The SEABOB Lakes & Oceans Tour 2026 is travelling across the United States with a straightforward idea, taking the product beyond showrooms and placing people directly behind the controls.
At the centre of the journey is the SEABOB F9, a compact electric watercraft designed to travel both across the surface and beneath it. Boaters, families, watersports enthusiasts, marina operators and marine professionals can experience the product in real conditions rather than observing it from a display stand.
A roadshow built around time on the water
The Lakes & Oceans Tour moves away from the conventional static product presentation. At each destination, visitors can operate the SEABOB F9 under the guidance of trained event specialists, exploring its handling and the transition between surface riding and underwater movement.
The route includes inland lakes, coastal waterways and established American boating destinations. It covers 22 states, with locations including the Lake of the Ozarks, Lake Montauk, Lake Norman, the East Coast and Florida. According to the official programme, participation in the scheduled demonstrations is free of charge.
Moving beyond the world of superyachts
Electric water toys have long been associated with large yachts, where generous storage areas and lifting equipment simplify their management. The F9 broadens that picture through a lower weight than previous generations of the SEABOB range.
Starting from a declared weight of 22.9 kilograms, the model is easier to move both on board and ashore. This makes it relevant not only to superyachts but also to performance boats, smaller yachts and craft used on inland lakes. The American tour reflects this wider positioning by demonstrating the F9 across several different boating environments.
The rider’s body becomes part of the controls
The SEABOB F9 is steered by holding the craft and shifting body weight to change direction and depth. A digital thumb-operated accelerator provides continuously adjustable power, while a switch allows the rider to move between Normal and Dive modes.
Dive mode delivers a more sensitive response for controlled underwater movement. Sport mode makes maximum motor power available for a more energetic experience on the surface. The system is intended to feel intuitive, allowing the rider to concentrate on movement through the water rather than a complicated set of controls.
Two versions for different riding styles
The range includes the SEABOB F9 and the more powerful SEABOB F9 S. Official technical specifications list outputs of 2.6 and 3.6 kW respectively, both with continuously variable power delivery.
Operating time depends on the selected model and battery configuration. The F9 can provide up to approximately 60 minutes with the extended battery, while the F9 S offers a stated operating time of around 50 minutes. Both versions have a declared maximum diving depth of 25 metres, although actual use should always reflect the rider’s experience, environmental conditions and local regulations.
Hydrodynamics shaped into the design
The F9 S features a stability system combining lateral elements with extendable rear wings. Together, these surfaces generate lift and help stabilise the craft during activities on the water.
Its exterior was developed by Studio F. A. Porsche in collaboration with the engineers at CAYAGO AG. The compact lines therefore serve more than an aesthetic purpose. They are part of the craft’s hydrodynamic behaviour and influence the way it responds to the rider’s movements.
Electric movement without a conventional engine note
Electric propulsion allows the SEABOB to operate without direct emissions during use and without the sound normally associated with a combustion engine. This creates a quieter relationship with the surrounding water, whether the craft is being used near a yacht, along a coastline or on an inland lake.
The term zero emissions should nevertheless be understood as referring to operation. As with any electric product, its wider environmental impact also depends on manufacturing, battery life and the energy source used for charging.
An event for marinas and marine businesses
The tour is not aimed solely at private users. Dealers, marina partners, marine companies and prospective commercial partners can also observe the F9 during real-world use and meet the team behind the product.
For a marine business, an in-water demonstration offers a clearer view of handling, storage, service requirements and customer interest. The presence of Aquabanas and Otter-Bike also helps frame the roadshow as a broader encounter with contemporary products designed for leisure on the water.
A travelling presentation with a more direct message
The relevance of the SEABOB Lakes & Oceans Tour lies not only in the distance travelled or the number of states involved. Its strongest element is the decision to let the product communicate through direct experience.
In a market often driven by polished imagery and promotional films, giving visitors time at the controls provides a more tangible way to understand a water toy. From the Lake of the Ozarks to the Florida coast, the journey also reflects growing interest in compact electric equipment that can become a practical part of life on board.
