Rossinavi Bel1, the superyacht that adapts to life on board

Rossinavi Bel1 combines adaptable interiors, contemporary design and multi-level terraces within a volume below 500 GT

With Bel1, Rossinavi has approached the 50-metre superyacht as a living environment that can change throughout the day. Delivered in 2024, this fully custom yacht is defined not only by its generous dimensions, but also by a layout designed to balance social life, privacy and a close connection with the sea.

Measuring 49.90 metres and built entirely in aluminium, Bel1 brings together Rossinavi, Fulvio De Simoni Yacht Design for the exterior, Team for Design – Enrico Gobbi for the interiors and Arrabito Naval Architects for the naval architecture. The result is a yacht below 500 GT whose staggered levels form a continuous journey through the vessel while retaining a strong and distinctive exterior profile.

An architecture designed to change

One of Bel1’s defining characteristics is the way its spaces can shift between open and sheltered configurations. Sliding panels, large glazed surfaces and carefully planned links between the decks allow the yacht to feel expansive while cruising and more private when moored.

This flexibility has a practical purpose. Guests can spend the day surrounded by natural light and sea air, then create a more protected atmosphere without losing the visual connection with the surroundings. Instead of functioning as a collection of separate rooms, the yacht behaves like a home at sea that adjusts to different moments and activities.

The mezzanine creates a different social setting

The split-level arrangement introduces an intermediate deck between the main and upper decks. Rather than serving merely as a passageway, this mezzanine becomes a more intimate outdoor setting, adding usable space without making the yacht’s profile appear unnecessarily imposing.

At the stern, the enclosed beach club features folding side sections and connects to the main deck cockpit through a central staircase. Above it, the mezzanine leads towards the yacht’s larger social spaces, creating a sequence of terraces overlooking the water. The different levels are perceived as parts of one extended open-air environment.

Contemporary interiors with a relaxed character

The interiors by Team for Design – Enrico Gobbi combine clean geometry, natural shades and carefully controlled contrasts. Pale fabrics, timber, metal details and reflective surfaces create a sophisticated atmosphere without making the rooms feel overly formal.

Low-profile furniture keeps sightlines clear, while broad windows and side openings constantly draw attention towards the sea. Decorative features add rhythm without dominating the rooms. Luxury is expressed through craftsmanship, proportion and balance rather than through excessive ornamentation.

A main saloon designed for everyday use

Inside the main deck saloon, the different functions flow naturally into one another. Conversation areas, the bar and the connecting spaces are arranged without rigid boundaries, making the room suitable for both informal family life and larger gatherings.

By avoiding the appearance of a purely ceremonial reception room, the interior feels more inviting. Bel1 is not designed simply to be admired from a distance. Its spaces encourage guests to sit down, move freely and make full use of the yacht throughout the day.

A remarkably large flybridge

The flybridge covers approximately 145 square metres, an unusually generous area for a yacht of this length. It is divided into several zones, with sunpads aft, a central bar beneath an opening hardtop and a pool located towards the bow.

Shade and sunlight can be adjusted according to the time of day, making the deck suitable for extended use. More than a panoramic platform, it functions as a complete social level where dining, relaxation and entertainment can take place simultaneously without competing for space.

A private owner’s area filled with natural light

The owner’s suite has been conceived as a peaceful private environment with a strong visual relationship to the sea. Openings in the hull introduce additional daylight and reduce the sense of separation from the outside, while the study and supporting spaces create a gradual transition into the most private part of the yacht.

Across the vessel, intimate areas are clearly distinguished from the main social zones. The main and owner’s decks remain more secluded, while the upper deck, mezzanine and flybridge provide open settings for entertaining and spending time together.

Aluminium supports performance and efficiency

The all-aluminium construction reduces weight and helps Bel1 achieve a maximum speed of 18 knots and a cruising speed of 14 knots. Two Caterpillar C32 engines, each producing 1,193 kW, provide a stated range of 4,000 nautical miles at 10 knots.

According to figures presented by the shipyard, at 15 knots the yacht can use substantially less fuel than a comparable full-displacement steel vessel. Efficiency is therefore not treated as a separate technical ambition, but as a feature that supports the overall cruising experience.

A yacht shaped around family life

Bel1 was commissioned by an experienced yacht owner embarking on a first fully custom project. The original brief focused on family life, generous spaces and the freedom to use the yacht in different ways throughout a cruise.

Those priorities have produced a vessel that does not rely on one dramatic feature to establish its identity. Its character comes from the flow between decks, the balance of private and social spaces and the ability to provide shelter without becoming disconnected from the landscape. Bel1 may be highly personal in its conception, yet its approach will feel familiar to anyone who sees a yacht as a place to inhabit rather than simply an object to display.
