At 15.40 metres, with four Mercury outboards and speeds up to 54 knots, the wallypower50X combines performance, modularity and unmistakable Wally design

The wallypower50X retains a silhouette that needs little introduction: vertical bow, clean surfaces, a taut profile and an hard top that almost appears to continue the geometry of the hull. The most obvious difference, however, is at the stern, where four outboards transform the character of Wally’s 50-footer.

It is precisely this choice that gives the new model a particular position within the range. Wally sees it as a link between wallypower and wallytender: it takes its visual identity and comfort from the former, while the latter contributes more open exterior spaces and the flexibility to use the same boat for a fast day on the water, as a chase boat or for a weekend exploring the coast.

Four engines, while keeping the water within reach

Installing four outboards on the transom of a 15-metre boat would normally mean sacrificing an important part of the direct relationship with the sea. With the wallypower50X, the design attempts to avoid precisely this compromise.

The engines are grouped centrally, while the stern configuration retains a passage providing natural access to the bathing platform. The cockpit incorporates solutions developed for the wallytender family and is more open than on the traditional wallypower.

Fold-down bulwarks further increase the available deck area at rest, while two separate aft sunpads leave a central passage clear towards the water.

This is therefore about more than simply adding power. The layout integrates the outboards without allowing them to dominate the onboard experience.

From 1,700 to 2,000 horsepower

Wally’s current standard configuration uses four Mercury Verado V10 425 hp outboards, providing a combined output of 1,700 hp. In this version the shipyard quotes a maximum speed of 48 knots and a cruising speed of 34 knots.

Owners looking for even stronger performance can choose four Mercury Racing V8 500R engines. Their combined 2,000 hp take the declared maximum speed to 54 knots, with a cruising speed of 36 knots.

Interestingly, the lower-powered version also offers the greater stated range: approximately 320 nautical miles at cruising speed, compared with 280 nautical miles for the 500R configuration.

These figures give the 50X a distinctly sporting personality, while allowing it to be considered as more than a boat intended purely for high-speed runs close to port.

A hull developed around speed

The transformation goes beyond installing different engines. Wally developed the hull together with the Ferretti Group Engineering team, aiming to maintain control, stability and predictable handling at the higher speeds made possible by outboard propulsion.

The result retains the visual character of the wallypower50 while directing it towards a more dynamic driving experience. The 50X measures 15.40 metres overall, with a maximum beam of 4.50 metres and a draught of 1.20 metres. Declared light displacement is 13,500 kg, rising to 17,300 kg at full load.

Fuel capacity is 2,800 litres, while fresh water capacity is 240 litres. The classification stated by the shipyard is B + F RINA.

A deck that changes with the day

One of the wallypower50X’s most interesting features remains its modular deck configuration.

Beneath the hard top are the main living area and helm station with two dedicated seats. Forward, a large sunpad creates a second outdoor area reached through protected side decks.

At the stern, the layout is designed to change quickly according to the way the boat is being used. The bulwarks can remain raised while underway and fold down once at anchor, increasing usable surface area and visually bringing the deck closer to the water.

This ability to change configuration is perhaps where the influence of the wallytender family is most evident. The boat does not impose a single role, but can move from fast cruising to anchoring, from tender duties to day cruising or weekend use.

Below deck, there is room to stay overnight

Its performance might suggest a purely day-oriented boat, but the 50X retains accommodation intended to extend time on board.

Wally provides a cabin for two, a lounge area and a bathroom with separate shower. These are not the spaces of a conventional cruising yacht, nor are they intended to be: the concept remains focused on a boat where most of the day is spent outdoors.

They are, however, enough to turn a day at sea into a weekend and considerably broaden the model’s potential compared with a pure tender.

From its Miami debut to the Genoa Boat Show

The wallypower50X made its world debut at the Miami International Boat Show in February 2026. In September it arrives at the 66th Genoa International Boat Show as one of the new Wally models presented to the Italian public.

The show, however, is mainly the setting in which to discover a boat that brings together qualities normally associated with different categories.

It offers the speed and immediacy of outboard propulsion, the openness of a tender, overnight accommodation and the restrained visual language that has identified Wally for years.

Perhaps the most interesting figure is not even 54 knots. It is the fact that after reaching that speed, the wallypower50X can lower its bulwarks, switch off four engines and simply become a space on the sea again.
