The watch was limited to 250 pieces at a price of 4,520 dollars on a leather strap and 5,025 dollars on a steel bracelet. Most Rainbow watches feature myriad multicolored gems, but Breitling’s sports watch differs, including multicolored markers of hours and minutes, a quick one that proved a success.Breitling CEO Georges Kern told Duffy: "The biggest surprise was the Rainbow. I like it, but it’s so special that I wasn’t sure it would be successful, instead we sold everything in a few hours."In April last year, the company announced that it would no longer be showing its new product at Baselworld, the beleaguered watch fair in Basel, Switzerland. Instead, the brand opted for its own "summits" to reveal the products. This year, the summit took place digitally with Kern revealing the new products that included six references to the Superocean collection, a new line of Chronomat bracelet sports watches and new Navitimers for women.www.breitling.com
