"The goal was to design a power system that would eliminate the ship’s main generator, so that it could offer a quiet, zero-emissions driving experience."The system created was called Fathom e-Power, and not only controls all non-propulsion systems, including navigation, air conditioning, stabilizers, autopilot, underwater lights and audio system, but also manages the 22 kw of battery power through four lithium-ion pack. This means that the auxiliary systems can run for up to eight hours, which translates into more time to relax at anchor, without noise and vapors.Rather than a typical boat rudder, the 400e has two 16-inch touchscreen displays, somewhat like a Tesla, but with custom interfaces designed for marine use.The 400e is also incredibly fast: with 1,350 total horsepower, its top speed of 65 mph is practically unheard of for a boat for a day. The ship is powered by a trio of 450hp Mercury Racing Outboards.
