"The Nautor’s Swan Experience concept has been on our table for many months," said Giovanni Pomati, CEO of Nautor Group, in a statement. "The current situation, with the cancellation of nautical events around the world, has accelerated things."

The Finnish, Italian-owned builder had no models to show, and Swan Racing owners, who have been stuck in their homeports all year, were ready for an event that included like-minded sailors. Twenty-six yachts representing 10 countries presented themselves at the Marina di Scarlino in Baia Scarlino along the Tuscan coast to participate in the Swan One Design Worlds and the Scarlino Private Boat Show.

The week-long event, which ended two days ago, also included a Lamborghini exhibition that allowed attendees to try out the cars, an art exhibit and many culinary delights. At the Private Boat Show were exhibited: Swan 48, Swan 54, Swan 65, Swan 70, Swan 75, Swan 78 and Swan 115.

The regattas turned out to be fewer than expected, with two out of four canceled due to “fickle” winds that could have endangered the crews.

The German yacht, Marcus Brennecke’s Hatari, won the ClubSwan 50 class and Lennard van Oeveren’s Dutch Motions won the ClubSwan 45 class. In competition for the Gold Cup, Cetilar-Vitamina was the winner of the ClubSwan 36.

Nautor’s Swan, which aimed to create a "360-degree experience" with the seven-day event, felt the goal was achieved, even with mandatory Covid-19 precautions like social distancing and attendees wearing masks.

Nautor Group President Leonardo Ferragamo said the company has worked hard to create a global brand. "The Swan Experience has provided us with the first real opportunity to showcase our craftsmanship, numerous stylish and innovative models, One Design rides, brokerage and charter services."
