This extremely rare metal is usually treated with a method called mokume-gane, an ancient processing technique used to make katanas in the 17th century.

The process consecrated by time involves the repeated hammering and bending of the metal, something that requires immense skill, and results in an extraordinary result. In addition, titanium is also three times stronger than steel and at the same time 40% lighter.

Each specimen of GNS1.2 TD has a blue dye applied to it by hand as it proceeds in the process. The very high temperature of the process and the coloring highlight its different layers of composition for an almost psychedelic effect. The use of these ancient methods is all the more surprising considering that Genus only came onto the market last year.

The watch houses the 18-carat manual winding movement, which won the prize of excellence at the Grand Prix d’Horlogerie de Genčve for 2019. The mechanism operates at 2.5 Hz or 18,000 vibrations per hour with a 50-hour power reserve and is water resistant to 30 meters. The customization options are varied and range from the hand-sewn calf leather strap or to the alligator leather strap, available only by special request.

The price of this gem is $155,930.
