The model, which has its roots in a regatta wristwatch introduced in 2009, belongs to the unconventional school of watchmaking. In place of the hands, the dial is set with 12 cubes with different variants of the Louis Vuitton pattern that rotate independently to mark the passage of time. Eleven remain gray, while one carries a golden face showing the time.

Patented and produced entirely in-house at La Fabrique du Temps Louis Vuitton, the Geneva-based high watchmaking workshop, the latter’s design added to the Escale Spin Time collection comes in a 41mm titanium case with black PVD finished in satin and an 18-carat gold bezel.

What sets this version apart, however, is its otherworldly dial, carved from a sliver of the famous Gibeon meteorites, which landed in Namibia millions of years ago. The automatic movement of the watch, powered by the LV 77 caliber, is the same as it appears in the Escale Spin Time 41.

Available on special order at some Louis Vuitton stores, the Escale Spin Time Météorite retail starts at 49,500 dollars.
