Derived from the F8 Tributo coupe, it has a 3.9-liter V8 turbo engine with 720 hp that offers a torque of 770 Nm starting at 3,250 rpm, numbers that translate into absolute level performance, with a sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in 2.9 seconds, a sprint from 0 to 200 km/h in 8.2 seconds and a top speed of 340 km/h. The Ferrari F8 Spider weighs 1400 kilos without gasoline and lubricants, 20 kilos less than the 488 Spider.

Numerous electronic systems help to manage performances, starting from steering wheel control to select driving modes: the most extreme is the Race, made easier to manage through the Ferrari Dynamic Enhancer (FDE) system, which makes the car more controllable and intuitive on curves. The interior has also been modified: the center console becomes more streamlined, but the sport setting remains with the keys in the steering wheel and the 7" screen of the multimedia system.
