Artefact, the fully hybrid 80-meter superyacht

Artefact is now the 80m superyacht with the largest volume in the world. The hull was built in steel while the superstructure is unusually built in fiberglass. This allowed the designers to create a truly amazing exterior by making extensive use of innovative techniques for working with glass. Reymond Langton Design is responsible for the interiors that remain, at the moment, still remain a mystery.

A key feature of the design is the central section of the floor-to-ceiling window that the yard calls "unprecedented". In total, 740 square meters of glass were used, weighing almost 60 tons.

Initially the ship was to be 50 meters long, but after a confrontation with the customer it was decided unanimously to lengthen it, without changing its design, which remained in line with expectations, indeed it had a decidedly spectacular result.

Pascale Reymond, who designed the interior, previously said, "The shape and size of the windows has really become a stepping stone for us for incredible design."

Artefact includes a series of new technological and engineering features to minimize its environmental impact. These include the use of solar panels and a large battery energy storage system that allows the boat to run without internal combustion engines for a limited time.

The boat is also equipped with Azipod propulsion and a dynamic positioning system, which can maintain the position of the boat without dropping the anchor to protect the sea bottom. The yacht can also recycle waste water for use as technical water.

The Artifact is among the first superyachts to meet IMO Tier III emissions regulations and features an innovative diesel-electric propulsion system developed with the manufacturer of electric motors ABB. Technology makes it up to 30% more efficient than other diesel yachts of its size.
