With the Libeccio 13.5, Cantiere Mimì takes the traditional Mediterranean gozzo into a larger and more liveable format. Designed by Valerio Rivellini, the model is the flagship of the Libeccio range and reinterprets the Sorrentine gozzo through contemporary proportions, cruising-oriented accommodation and performance that, according to the yard, can reach 30 knots.
A gozzo on a different scale
The Libeccio 13.5 measures 13.5 metres overall, with an 11.4-metre hull length and a beam of 4.1 metres. These dimensions move the project beyond the traditional day-boat formula into a category where deck layout, interior volume and extended time aboard become central considerations.
The Cabin version was developed as an evolution of the Libeccio range, created to reinterpret classic Sorrentine gozzi in a contemporary way. The result retains recognisable references to tradition while introducing larger volumes, broader living areas and an interior arrangement intended for cruising.
Design by Valerio Rivellini
Valerio Rivellini’s design focuses on the relationship between historical identity and modern proportions. The bow, deckhouse and overall hull profile retain links with the classic gozzo, while the more open stern and organisation of the exterior spaces belong to a distinctly contemporary design language.
The aim is therefore not to reproduce a traditional boat, but to preserve some of its recognisable characteristics while adapting them to current expectations of comfort, usability and movement on board.
Three cabins and six berths
The layout provides six berths arranged across three cabins. This is one of the features that most clearly separates the Libeccio 13.5 from the smaller models in the range and establishes its cruising character.
The interior accommodation is complemented by a deck plan that makes use of the available beam, while the open stern strengthens the connection with the sea. Maximum passenger capacity is stated as 14.
Teak, fibreglass and continuity with the range
Like the other Libeccio models, the 13.5 retains several recurring features of the yard’s production, including teak decking and fibreglass construction.
The overall language remains consistent with the Mimì family, but the greater length allows the theme of onboard liveability to be developed more clearly, making it one of the defining elements of the 13.5.
Twin engines and up to 30 knots
The technical specification lists twin 370 hp or twin 440 hp engine configurations. The yard states a maximum speed of between 25 and 30 knots depending on the chosen installation.
Fuel capacity is 1,000 litres and fresh-water capacity 500 litres. Declared weight is 10,180 kg and the yacht is rated in CE design category B.
Tradition as a starting point
The Libeccio 13.5 reflects the direction Cantiere Mimì has taken with the wider Libeccio range. The gozzo remains the cultural and formal reference, but the design is progressively reshaped to meet expectations very different from those of the original working boat.
On the 13.5, this evolution is particularly clear: tradition remains visible in the proportions and overall identity, while the spaces, performance and interior arrangement belong to a boat conceived for contemporary cruising.
