At 9.96 metres long and 3.05 metres wide, the Marcopolo MP10 approaches the dayboat concept through an open layout, generous exterior areas and construction focused on reducing weight. Designed by Roberto Delfanti and built by 3AF Shipyard, it accommodates up to 12 people and features a double-step hull developed using CFD analysis.
An open bow and a transformable aft deck
The MP10 is primarily organised around outdoor living. Its broad foredeck provides a substantial social area, while standard fold-down bulwarks increase the usable surface aft when the boat is at rest.
The outboards sit within a protective structure that creates greater separation between the engines and guest areas. The arrangement retains access to the stern while taking advantage of external propulsion.
A double-step hull developed through CFD analysis
One of the key technical elements is the two-step hull. Marcopolo says its geometry was developed using Computational Fluid Dynamics analysis to study the boat’s balance, efficiency and behaviour across different speeds.
The current technical specification allows for a maximum of two 350 hp outboards. Fuel capacity is 540 litres, while the fresh-water tank holds 117 litres.
Lightweight materials for the structure
The hull and deck are constructed in fibreglass, while lightweight materials are also used within the internal structure. Recycled PET is employed for cores, with honeycomb polypropylene used for bulkheads and selected components.
The primary aim is structural efficiency and reduced weight. The recycled content also forms part of Marcopolo’s stated approach to reducing the environmental impact of the materials used during construction.
Space Shell for the exterior upholstery
For seating and sunpads, Marcopolo uses Space Shell, a technical material originating from aerospace and motorsport applications and selected for its ability to reduce heat transfer on surfaces exposed to the sun.
The material choice reflects a wider design approach in which equipment and layout are intended to simplify everyday use, particularly on days spent predominantly outdoors.
Below deck, from dinette to overnight accommodation
The interior follows a deliberately simple layout. The standard arrangement includes a forward dinette, while an optional version allows part of the area to convert into a sofa bed.
Storage and a compact bathroom with shower are also provided. Dinamica technical fabric is used for selected interior surfaces, while natural wood flooring introduces a more traditional material below deck.
A ten-metre boat focused on versatility
With capacity for up to 12 people and Category B certification, the MP10 combines within less than ten metres several solutions more often found aboard larger dayboats: fold-down bulwarks, substantial exterior areas, usable accommodation below deck and twin outboard propulsion.
Roberto Delfanti’s design concentrates on balancing ease of use, available space and dynamic behaviour. Rather than pursuing extensive interior volume, Marcopolo uses that combination to define the MP10’s character.
