Sunseeker 86 Ocean Enclosed, a different way to experience the upper deck

Panoramic spaces, four or five cabins and an upper deck designed for different conditions define the Sunseeker 86 Ocean Enclosed

The Sunseeker 86 Ocean Enclosed brings a protected Sky Lounge, generous volumes and a 900-nautical-mile range to a 25.14-metre yacht

The Sunseeker 86 Ocean Enclosed starts with a decision that significantly changes the character of the upper deck: the wheelhouse and Sky Lounge are brought together within a protected panoramic environment. This is not simply about adding another saloon, but about transforming part of the upper deck into a space that can be enjoyed in very different conditions and at different times of the day.

It is a solution that captures the philosophy of the model particularly well. Rather than relying only on expansive exterior areas, the 86 Ocean Enclosed distributes life on board across several levels, providing spaces for gathering as well as places where greater privacy can be found.

A Sky Lounge above the sea

The feature that most clearly distinguishes the yacht is its enclosed upper deck. Here, Sunseeker combines the wheelhouse with a Sky Lounge offering extensive views across the horizon.

While underway, it can become a place from which to follow the route and watch the sea. Once the destination has been reached, its purpose changes, becoming a more private retreat away from the main saloon.

The enclosed design also offers an interesting advantage for owners who use their yacht beyond the height of summer. Wind, cooler temperatures or less favourable weather have less influence on the ability to enjoy the upper deck.

In the Mediterranean, this means imagining a cruising season that can begin earlier and finish later without giving up the views and the sensation of being high above the water.

Generous volume without losing the profile

The 86 Ocean Enclosed measures 25.14 metres overall with a beam of 6.56 metres. This width, combined with the vertical organisation of the accommodation, plays an important part in creating the yacht’s sense of space.

Sunseeker places considerable emphasis on volume, seeking an experience more commonly associated with larger yachts. The result is not simply a question of available floor area, but of how the different spaces interact and the visual continuity between inside and outside.

On the main deck, large glazed surfaces bring natural light into the saloon and keep the surroundings constantly present. The spaces flow into one another while still allowing different areas to serve different purposes throughout the day.

Four cabins, with the option of five

Below deck, the yacht offers four or five cabins, together with four or five ensuites/dayheads depending on the selected configuration.

A four-cabin arrangement can therefore provide more generous individual spaces, while the five-cabin option increases the yacht’s accommodation capacity.

That flexibility becomes particularly valuable on a yacht intended not only for day trips but also for longer periods on board with family and friends.

And it is during extended cruising that separate living spaces become especially useful. A main saloon, an upper-deck Sky Lounge and private cabins allow everyone on board to share the journey without necessarily sharing every moment.

900 nautical miles to widen the horizon

The Ocean philosophy can also be seen in the cruising figures. Sunseeker quotes a range of approximately 900 nautical miles at 10-12 knots for the 86 Ocean Enclosed.

This makes it possible to consider the yacht not only as the destination once it reaches an anchorage, but as a means of creating more ambitious itineraries.

In the Mediterranean, 900 nautical miles can open up many possibilities: linking islands and coastlines, moving between different cruising areas or simply choosing to make the journey between destinations a larger part of the experience.

Range, in this context, becomes a form of freedom. It does not require owners to travel farther, but gives them greater choice over how far they wish to go.

Up to 25 knots, without making speed the main event

Power comes from MAN engines offering up to 3,300 PS, driving through shaft propulsion. Maximum speed is quoted at up to 25 knots.

These are substantial figures for a yacht with a declared displacement of 74,630 kg, yet outright speed does not appear to define the project.

The balance between performance and range suggests a different personality. The 86 Ocean Enclosed can move quickly when required, while its character becomes particularly evident at more relaxed cruising speeds, when space, views and time on board take greater importance.

More than a floating terrace

Contemporary yachts often express their relationship with the sea through beach clubs, platforms and expansive outdoor areas. The 86 Ocean Enclosed introduces another perspective.

Here, the sea also enters the yacht through panoramic views from protected interior spaces. The landscape remains part of the experience without requiring everyone to remain outside.

It is a subtle but meaningful distinction. During the same day, guests can choose between sun and open air, protection and climate control, social spaces and quieter areas, without concentrating the entire onboard experience in one location.

A yacht that encourages longer stays on board

With a draft of 1.86 metres, 1,500 litres of fresh water and capacities designed around cruising, the Sunseeker 86 Ocean Enclosed is intended for more than a succession of days at anchor.

Its most interesting characteristic is therefore not a single technical figure. It is the ability to change location on board without necessarily changing what you want to do: spend time together in the main saloon, move to the Sky Lounge to watch the horizon, return outside when the conditions are right or find a quieter area when greater privacy is preferred.

On a 25-metre yacht, space is not simply about having more surface area available. It is about having more ways to use it.

That may be the idea that best defines the 86 Ocean Enclosed: not simply a larger yacht to inhabit, but a yacht that gives its guests the freedom to choose how they want to spend their time on board.
