The Prestige M8 EVO starts from an established platform, but the way the shipyard chose to evolve it is perhaps the most interesting aspect of the project. The experience gained from M8 yachts cruising in different parts of the world, together with feedback from their owners, provided the starting point for reconsidering spaces, autonomy and the organisation of everyday life on board.
This is therefore more than an aesthetic update to the M-Line flagship. The M8 EVO retains the power multihull concept and the generous volumes that distinguish the range, while focusing primarily on how those spaces are used and experienced.
An evolution shaped by experience
Prestige developed the M8 EVO partly by observing how owners actually use the M8. It is an approach that moves the project beyond theory: a yacht may demonstrate its qualities on paper, but weeks and months of cruising reveal habits, requirements and opportunities for improvement.
This thinking led to a new organisation of the main deck. The galley has been enlarged and now incorporates a bar, while the dining area takes a central position in the saloon. For the first time, a dedicated area for the helm and crew also provides greater separation between operational activities and guest life.
These changes capture the EVO philosophy particularly well: rather than simply adding features, the aim is to rethink the relationship between the yacht’s different spaces.
The flybridge becomes a second living environment
On a multihull of this size, outdoor space is naturally a fundamental part of the experience, and on the M8 EVO the flybridge takes on an even more prominent role.
Extending across the full beam, it is conceived as a genuine open-air saloon. Rather than simply serving as a second helm station accompanied by seating, it becomes a living area that can be configured to suit the owner’s needs and potentially one of the main places to spend the day on board.
In the Mediterranean, it is easy to imagine it during long afternoons at anchor, at sunset or in the evening, when its elevated position maintains an open relationship with the surrounding landscape and sea.
A more private owner’s suite
The owner’s suite has also been redesigned. Prestige describes a larger, brighter environment with private access from the main deck and expansive panoramic windows.
The arrangement maintains a strong connection with the surroundings while preserving privacy. This becomes particularly relevant on a yacht designed for longer stays aboard, where the quality of private spaces carries a different importance from that of a boat primarily intended for day use.
Materials, textures and colours can be combined through various personalisation options. The interior design moves towards a softer and more welcoming atmosphere, with references identified by the shipyard to modernism and a contemporary interpretation of Art Deco.
19.82 metres long, but perhaps 8.85 metres wide matters more
The M8 EVO measures 19.82 metres overall, but one of the figures that best explains the project is its beam: 8.85 metres.
The multihull architecture creates an amount of usable surface that cannot be understood through length alone. Living areas can develop across the yacht rather than mainly along its centreline, producing a feeling closer to a residence on the water than to the conventional longitudinal organisation of many motor yachts.
This relationship between exterior dimensions and interior volume is one of the fundamental principles around which Prestige has developed the entire M-Line.
Greater autonomy for leaving the marina behind
The evolution also extends to cruising. The M8 EVO is powered by two MAN i6 engines producing 730 hp each and carries enlarged fuel and water capacities. Prestige states a fuel capacity of 3,700 litres, while fresh water totals 2,100 litres across two 1,050-litre tanks.
Prestige also highlights one of the advantages of its twin-hull architecture, stating that fuel consumption and CO2 emissions can be halved compared with a monohull offering the same living volume.
This is a comparison defined directly by the builder and should be read within those specific parameters: it refers not to a monohull of the same length, but to one providing an equivalent amount of living space.
The design objective is nevertheless clear. The M8 EVO aims to increase the ability to cruise and spend longer periods away from marina infrastructure, making autonomy part of the onboard experience rather than merely a technical specification.
A multihull that can adapt to its owner
The interior and exterior spaces offer multiple configuration possibilities. The flybridge is perhaps the clearest example, but personalisation also extends to furniture, materials, colours and finishes.
The idea is not to impose a single way of living aboard. A family, a couple or an owner who regularly welcomes numerous friends may have very different requirements, particularly aboard a yacht intended for extended cruising.
This flexibility completes the M8 EVO concept: taking advantage of the space offered by a multihull without turning that abundance into an unnecessarily rigid layout.
A Mediterranean world premiere
The M8 EVO is scheduled for its world premiere in September 2026, with its debut announced for the Cannes Yachting Festival. It is a fitting setting for a model in which outdoor living and a close relationship with the sea play central roles.
Yet the M8 EVO is interesting for reasons that extend beyond its launch. Prestige has used experience from the existing M8 to reconsider aspects that become particularly apparent through real life aboard: circulation, privacy, autonomy, social spaces and adaptability.
This is where the EVO name perhaps finds its clearest meaning. Not in replacing what already worked, but in developing it further through the way owners have actually used the yacht.
