Golf, the maritime industry and social commitment come together once again at Costa Navarino for the 12th Greek Maritime Golf Event

From 4 to 6 September 2026, Costa Navarino will once again become a meeting point for golf and the international maritime industry. Celebrating its twelfth year, the Greek Maritime Golf Event brings together executives, professionals and representatives from the shipping world for an event combining competition, professional relationships and social commitment.

The centrepiece of the 2026 edition will be The Dunes Course, where the main tournament will take place on Saturday, 5 September.

When golf becomes a place to meet

The competition will follow a Shotgun Scramble 4-Ball format, with teams of four players and scoring based on the two best balls. Play is scheduled to begin at 10:00 on Saturday morning.

Beyond the sporting dimension, the format reflects the character of the event itself. Golf provides an informal environment where professionals from different areas of the maritime industry can spend time together away from their usual business settings.

Guests wishing to discover the sport will also be able to take part in a Golf Clinic at 11:30 under the guidance of an experienced golf professional.

Costa Navarino sets the scene

Costa Navarino gives the event a dimension that extends beyond the tournament itself. The destination in Messinia has become one of the Mediterranean’s most recognisable golf locations, while The Dunes Course provides a setting where sport, landscape and hospitality come together naturally.

For a professional community closely connected to the sea, gathering on the Greek coast also carries particular significance. Greece remains one of the world’s key shipping nations, making the event a natural meeting point between the country’s maritime sector and its international counterparts.

An evening with a charitable purpose

Saturday’s programme will conclude with the Awards Ceremony, hosted by former basketball player and EuroLeague figure Joe Arlauckas.

Alongside the sporting awards, the evening will once again include a strong charitable component. The Greek Maritime Golf Event supports Floga – Parents Association of Children with Cancer, which provides medical, psychological and social support to children fighting cancer and their families.

During the Awards Night, guests will be able to contribute by purchasing a selection of special gifts, with proceeds going directly towards the association’s activities.

Shipping, sport and professional relationships

Over the years, the Greek Maritime Golf Event has developed its identity around the participation of the Greek and international maritime community. The 2026 edition once again brings together companies directly connected to shipping alongside partners from other industries.

Three days for the maritime community

The Greek Maritime Golf Event is an initiative by acclaimed Greek PGA professional golfer Thanos Karantzias and is organised by Birdie Events, with golf production managed by ActiveMedia Group.

Twelve years after its launch, the event continues to use sport as a connecting point for maritime professionals. Golf, relationships and social contribution form part of the same programme, set against a Mediterranean backdrop that makes Costa Navarino a natural location for a community accustomed to looking beyond national borders.
