Astondoa 377 Coupé, the Mediterranean in under twelve metres

An inverted bow, accommodation for four and open-air living define the 377 Coupé, the compact model in Astondoa’s sporting family

At 11.61 metres in length, the Astondoa 377 Coupé originated from an apparently straightforward request: to offer, in a more compact size, part of the experience introduced by the 655 Coupé. Astondoa did not simply scale down the proportions. Instead, it created a sporty boat with yacht-like features, equally suited to a fast day along the coast or an overnight stay at anchor before continuing the journey the following morning.

The result now occupies a distinctive place in the Spanish shipyard’s recent history. Astondoa describes the 377 as the best-selling model in its Coupé family, a range that has developed an increasingly recognisable identity over the years.

A bow that helped create an identity

The first feature to distinguish the 377 Coupé is its inverted bow. Together with the sculpted hull sides and aerodynamic angles, it creates an immediately recognisable silhouette, clearly removed from the more conventional forms of many cruisers of a similar size.

Astondoa says the design was inspired by the silhouette of the blue whale. That natural reference was translated into elongated volumes and three-dimensional surfaces, eventually becoming one of the visual signatures of the Coupé family.

It was not a feature confined to the 377. When Astondoa developed the more recent 577 Coupé, it retained several of these elements, including the inverted bow, confirming a stylistic continuity across yachts of different sizes.

Eleven metres without giving up nights on board

The 377 Coupé has a maximum beam of 3.56 metres, but it is the interior arrangement that perhaps best explains why Astondoa describes it as a compact boat with yacht-like amenities.

Below deck there are two cabins, one head and accommodation for four. This layout genuinely changes the way the yacht can be used: not only for day trips, but also for weekends and short cruises without giving up the relative ease of handling associated with a yacht under twelve metres.

The formula feels particularly natural in the Mediterranean. Owners can leave in the morning for a secluded bay, move to a marina in the afternoon and decide to stay away overnight without having to define the entire programme in advance.

The deck becomes the centre of the day

While the interior makes longer stays possible, the 377 Coupé reveals its most immediate character outdoors. The spaces are organised around an open and informal way of spending time on board, maintaining a direct relationship between guests, yacht and sea.

It is a philosophy that Astondoa has progressively extended throughout the Coupé range. When describing its latest models, the shipyard speaks of spaces conceived around a more open, social and contemporary approach to life on board.

On the 377, the idea takes a particularly straightforward form: dimensions remain manageable, distances on board are short and the water is always close. That matters especially when much of the day is spent at anchor rather than underway.

Customisation without changing the character

Customisation is a recurring theme throughout Astondoa’s production and the 377 Coupé is no exception. The shipyard offers different aesthetic options and a colour palette referencing destinations associated with the Mediterranean and life by the sea, including Mykonos, Formentera, Saint-Tropez, Tarifa, Capri, Cinque Terre, Nice and Portofino, alongside more understated shades.

These choices do not alter the nature of the yacht but allow owners to make it more personal. Astondoa continues to identify this approach as one of the foundations of its philosophy, together with craftsmanship and attention to finish.

Behind it stands an independent family shipyard with more than a century of heritage and four generations dedicated to yacht building. Today, Astondoa combines that continuity with contemporary design and a strong emphasis on customisation.

36 knots without making speed the only objective

The standard 377 Coupé is powered by twin Volvo Penta D4 260 hp diesel engines. Astondoa also offers twin 300 hp D4 diesels or twin 300 hp Volvo Penta V8 petrol engines.

The declared maximum speed is 36 knots, with a cruising speed of 28 knots. The V-shaped hull has a 21-degree angle.

The figures confirm the yacht’s sporting character, but they do not tell the whole story. The 377 was never conceived simply as a high-performance machine: propulsion, outdoor areas and interior accommodation have to work together within the same platform. Its ability to move naturally from cruising to life at anchor is what gives the model much of its everyday appeal.

Twelve by day, four when the pace changes

The 377 Coupé is certified for up to 12 people on board, while overnight accommodation is arranged for four. Those two figures perhaps describe the yacht’s dual personality better than any label.

During the day it can operate as an open, sociable yacht for cruising and anchoring with a larger group. In the evening, the two cabins allow the atmosphere to change as a smaller party remains aboard and continues the journey.

The shipyard lists approximately 800 litres of fuel capacity and 200 litres of fresh water. Construction is in GRP and certification is by RINA.

From the 377 to The Coupé Collection

One of the clearest ways to understand the 377’s role is to look at what followed. In 2024, Astondoa introduced the 577 Coupé project by positioning it between the best-selling 377 and the 677 Coupé. By 2026, with the 577 established in the range, the shipyard brought the 577 and 677 together under the concept of The Coupé Collection, presenting them at the Cannes Yachting Festival as two interpretations of the same contemporary Mediterranean approach to yachting.

Design, character, intelligent functionality and a close connection with the sea are among the ideas Astondoa now uses to describe this family. The 377 expresses them in their most compact form.

That is perhaps the real purpose of the model. Rather than simply imitating a larger yacht at a reduced scale, its 11.61 metres provide enough space, versatility and comfort to keep the day’s plans open.

Going out for a few hours or staying away for the weekend can therefore become a decision made along the way. In the Mediterranean, that kind of freedom may be worth more than a few additional metres.
