The Costa Smeralda is accustomed to welcoming spectacular yachts, bespoke vessels and international visitors. During summer 2026, the marinas of Porto Cervo and the roads of Gallura provide the setting for another distinctive arrival, as Range Rover creates a project connecting automotive design, yachting culture and Mediterranean hospitality.
This is not simply a display of prestigious vehicles in an equally prestigious destination. The British marque has developed a series of spaces and driving experiences across the area, allowing its cars to become part of the Sardinian landscape rather than remaining inside a conventional showroom.
Much like a yacht reveals its true character after leaving the marina, a Range Rover can only fully express its identity when elegance, performance and the freedom to travel become part of the same experience.
Where automotive design meets yachting culture
Porto Cervo is one of the few destinations where exclusive cars and large yachts naturally speak the same language. Both worlds are shaped by a careful balance of performance, comfort, recognisable design and almost unlimited personalisation.
Range Rover has entered this environment through several locations, including the Waterfront, the Promenade du Port and the Yacht Club Costa Smeralda. Its partnership with the club includes dedicated services for members and guests, while strengthening a relationship also represented by the Range Rover Sardinia Cup, which returned in 2026 following a fourteen-year absence.
The connection between road and sea therefore feels more substantial than a conventional branding exercise. Yacht owners and clients commissioning highly personalised vehicles often look for similar qualities, carefully selected materials, attentive service and a finished product that reflects an individual way of living.
A vehicle shaped around its owner
At the Promenade du Port, the Range Rover Bespoke Studio brings this philosophy to life inside a 350-square-metre seasonal space, open until 30 September 2026. Created with interiors by Molteni&C, the studio combines natural materials, understated furnishings and abundant light, making it feel more like a private residence than a traditional dealership.
Personalisation here goes far beyond choosing an exterior colour or a seat covering. Bespoke specialists can guide clients through exclusive paint finishes, leather, wood veneers, embroidery and individually crafted details.
The process has much in common with commissioning a custom yacht. An established platform may provide the technical foundation, but the final result emerges from a conversation between designers, craftspeople and the future owner.
Pearl of Tay celebrates individuality
One of the main attractions in Porto Cervo is the Range Rover Bespoke Pearl of Tay, a unique commission first presented during Milan Design Week in April 2026. Inspired by Scotland’s River Tay, it features shades of purple, embroidery recalling the movement of water and gold-plated exterior lettering.
Rather than serving only as a decorative exercise, the vehicle demonstrates how personalisation can give an industrial product its own narrative. Every surface and finish contributes to a recognisable identity, much like the interior of a yacht, where timber, fabrics, lighting and furniture are selected to create a genuinely personal environment.
Within this interpretation of luxury, value is no longer determined only by rarity or cost. It also comes from owning something that cannot easily be confused with anything else.
An electric future beside the Mediterranean
Range Rover’s Sardinian programme also looks towards the technological transformation of the brand. The future Range Rover Electric is among the new developments introduced to the public, with the task of carrying the model’s familiar proportions, comfort and all-terrain character into the electric era.
Electrification finds an interesting setting in a landscape where silence, smoothness and travel quality have particular meaning. On a coastal road, as at sea, the most effective technology is not necessarily the technology that constantly announces its presence. It is often the one that quietly improves the journey.
The challenge will be to preserve the identity of Range Rover without placing the combustion engine at the centre of the experience. The manufacturer’s strategy aims to combine innovation and performance while maintaining the marque’s visual and cultural continuity.
From the waterfront to the granite trails
The Costa Smeralda is not limited to boutiques, restaurants and superyachts at anchor. A few kilometres inland, its glamorous coastline gives way to winding roads, rocky tracks and the granite landscape of Gallura.
Range Rover’s driving programme allows guests to discover both sides of the region. Scenic coastal routes highlight comfort and refinement, while technical off-road sections reveal suspension articulation, stability and control on uneven surfaces. The programme also includes some of the most exclusive SV models.
The Range Rover SV focuses on isolation and composed progress, while the Range Rover Sport SV offers a more immediate and dynamic driving character. They represent two different interpretations of luxury, yet both retain the off-road ability that remains central to the Range Rover name.
A waterfront designed for people, not only cars
From 6 July to 10 September, the Porto Cervo Waterfront also hosts a floral installation inspired by the Mastery Market concept previously presented in London. Botanical displays, canopies with undulating borders and bouquets offered to visitors turn the brand’s presence into part of the summer scenery.
The project reflects a broader change in the way luxury brands meet their audiences. Commercial spaces are becoming less formal and increasingly resemble places for conversation, discovery and shared experiences, including for visitors who may have no immediate intention of purchasing a vehicle.
Range Rover therefore becomes part of the marina’s daily rhythm, engaging with boutiques, lounges, architecture and yachts without making Porto Cervo feel like an outdoor motor show.
A quieter and more personal form of luxury
Range Rover’s summer in Sardinia offers a wider reflection on the changing meaning of exclusivity. Power, scale and fine materials still matter, but they are no longer enough on their own.
Luxury clients increasingly seek durable products, individually tailored services and environments where time can move at a more relaxed pace. The yachting world understands this particularly well. The value of a yacht cannot be measured only in metres, speed or number of cabins, but also in the quality of the days spent on board.
Between Porto Cervo, the Sardinian sea and the rugged roads of Gallura, Range Rover presents the automobile as part of a wider lifestyle. It brings together two worlds that may appear different, yet share the same ambition, making the journey as personal as the destination.
