Jumeirah Capri Palace reveals a quieter side of Capri through contemporary art, Michelin-starred dining, design and wellness

Away from the energy of the Piazzetta and the island’s busiest routes, Jumeirah Capri Palace reveals a quieter side of Capri. Located high above the sea in Anacapri, the resort looks across the Gulf of Naples towards Ischia and the changing colours of the Mediterranean.

Rather than presenting itself simply as a place to stay, the property creates a journey through contemporary art, fine dining, design and personalised wellbeing. Its atmosphere is elegant without feeling theatrical, allowing the architecture and surrounding landscape to shape the experience naturally.

A Mediterranean palace above the sea

White arches, vaulted ceilings and classical columns recall the architecture of an eighteenth-century Neapolitan residence. These traditional forms are balanced by contemporary furnishings, Mediterranean colours and interiors filled with natural light.

Standing more than 300 metres above sea level, the hotel offers a welcome sense of calm beyond Capri’s most crowded areas. The lanes of Anacapri, fragrant gardens and nearby slopes of Monte Solaro create an intimate setting, while many of the island’s landmarks remain within easy reach.

Rooms and suites inspired by island life

The resort has 72 rooms and suites, each designed with its own character. Sea-facing accommodation opens towards the blue horizon, while garden rooms offer views of Mediterranean plants and peaceful outdoor spaces. Connecting rooms and private wings provide additional comfort for families and groups travelling together.

The new Mariorita Suites, designed by Patricia Urquiola, introduce a distinctive interpretation of Capri. Curved walls, bespoke furnishings, local craftsmanship and natural materials echo the shapes and colours of the coastline. Stone, sea and vegetation appear in subtle details, creating interiors that feel connected to the island rather than simply decorated in its style.

Contemporary art becomes part of the stay

A private contemporary art collection is displayed throughout Jumeirah Capri Palace. Works appear in public spaces, corridors, gardens and unexpected corners, turning a walk through the property into a constantly changing visual experience.

Art is not treated as an accessory. Cultural collaborations, installations and initiatives supporting contemporary artists allow creativity to become part of the resort’s identity. Guests encounter the collection while moving between a restaurant, the pool or their room, almost as though they were staying inside a living gallery.

Mediterranean flavours with a creative perspective

Dining plays a defining role at the resort. Two-Michelin-starred Il Ristorante L’Olivo explores Mediterranean cuisine through precise techniques, carefully selected ingredients and modern presentations. Its menus draw inspiration from southern Italy while retaining a distinctly contemporary personality.

The journey continues at Il Riccio Restaurant & Beach Club, set on the rocky coast near the Blue Grotto. Fresh fish, shellfish and seasonal Mediterranean produce shape a menu designed to be enjoyed beside the sea, where the surrounding water and cliffs become part of the dining room.

Other venues offer Neapolitan recipes, local favourites and international influences, giving guests the freedom to move from relaxed daytime dining to more elaborate evening experiences.

A private beach club beside the Blue Grotto

The resort’s exclusive beach club provides a different way to experience Capri’s coastline. Terraces descend towards the water, offering places to sunbathe, swim and enjoy lunch above the rocks.

Its location near the Blue Grotto also makes it a convenient starting point for exploring the island by sea. Private speedboat excursions can be arranged on request, opening the way to hidden coves, caves and dramatic sections of coastline that are best appreciated from the water.

A personalised approach to wellbeing

The Capri Medical Spa combines wellness treatments with medical expertise and personalised programmes. Instead of focusing only on relaxation, its philosophy considers physical balance, regeneration and individual goals.

One of its signature experiences is the Leg School®, a programme dedicated to the health and appearance of the lower limbs. Massages, therapeutic wraps, mud treatments and advanced aesthetic techniques are combined to support circulation, reduce feelings of heaviness and encourage a broader sense of wellbeing.

Detox programmes, regenerative treatments and tailored wellness journeys complete the offering. Guests can also use the heated outdoor swimming pool and a fitness room available throughout the day.

A season shaped by design and culture

For the 2026 season, Jumeirah Capri Palace has expanded its programme of culinary, artistic and wellness events. A series of four-hands dinners brings internationally recognised Michelin-starred chefs to L’Olivo, where they work alongside the resident team to create menus specifically for each occasion.

The resort’s outdoor areas have also entered a new design chapter. Patricia Urquiola has reimagined the pool surroundings, Bar degli Artisti and lounge terrace using Palladian flooring, glazed terracotta, rattan and custom marble furniture. The result reflects the colours and textures of Anacapri while maintaining a clear contemporary identity.

Discovering Capri at a gentler pace

Staying in Anacapri makes it possible to explore a more peaceful and authentic side of the island. Villa San Michele, Monte Solaro, Punta Carena Lighthouse and panoramic walking trails can all become part of an itinerary designed around curiosity rather than urgency.

Transfers from Capri harbour can be arranged on request, making arrival easier for guests and their luggage. Private speedboat journeys and helicopter transfers are also available for travellers seeking a more flexible and discreet way to reach the resort or explore the surrounding coastline.

A more intimate vision of Capri

Jumeirah Capri Palace is designed for travellers who value exclusivity, but also for those looking for time, privacy and space. Art, gastronomy, wellness and landscape come together without competing for attention, allowing each guest to shape a personal experience.

This is Capri beyond its familiar postcard image. The resort’s international outlook does not distance it from the island’s identity. Instead, it offers a contemporary interpretation of Mediterranean hospitality, preserving the relaxed beauty and unmistakable character of Anacapri.
