Riva 96’ Argo Super brings a new sense of openness to the flybridge experience

The first Riva 96’ Argo Super has been launched at the brand’s La Spezia shipyard, introducing a new generation to the Italian builder’s flybridge range. Measuring 28.79 metres, the yacht evolves the successful 90’ Argo concept through more open spaces, a more efficient layout and a closer connection with the sea. Following sea trials, the model is scheduled to make its official debut at the 2026 Cannes Yachting Festival.

A familiar profile shaped for a new generation

The exterior retains the balance of elegance and sporting character traditionally associated with Riva, while giving the yacht a more contemporary presence. On the first unit, an Aluminium finish is paired with Bright Black detailing, creating a refined contrast around the glazing and along the streamlined superstructure. The design avoids unnecessary visual excess, allowing the yacht to appear modern while remaining unmistakably connected to the brand’s identity.

The stern becomes a terrace beside the water

One of the most substantial changes can be found aft, where the spaces have been developed as an integral part of life at anchor. A generous sunpad with handrails and cup holders is incorporated into the garage door, which opens to reveal storage for a Williams 435 tender and a jet ski. The adjoining swim platform is fitted with a lifting system, making access to the water easier and helping the crew manage tenders, swimming and watersports more safely.

Outdoor areas designed for changing moments

The cockpit has been arranged to move easily from relaxed daytime use to dining and evening entertainment. Two large longitudinal sofas sit beside the dining table and feature adjustable backrests, while additional storage and a built-in refrigerator reduce the need to move constantly between decks. Above, the flybridge gains a redesigned bar and mahogany-topped tables, combining practical improvements with materials closely associated with Riva’s heritage.

A more natural flow across the main deck

The addition of a day head on the main deck creates greater flexibility throughout the interior. Two saloon arrangements are available and, aboard the first yacht, the dining area is positioned aft with the lounge forward. This sequence extends the atmosphere of the cockpit into the interior, encouraging guests to use the main deck as one continuous social space rather than as a collection of separate rooms.

A full-beam owner’s suite filled with natural light

Large glazed surfaces define the main-deck owner’s suite, allowing views of the water to remain visible even from the bed. The furniture has been positioned to preserve light and create a calm, open atmosphere. On the lower deck, the standard layout provides three guest cabins, including a full-beam VIP suite aft whose dimensions approach those of a second owner’s cabin. An alternative arrangement adds three VIP cabins and a separate twin-bed guest cabin.

Contrasting materials create a warmer interior

Polished wengé is combined with pale matt oak to establish a balance between depth and brightness. Mirrored surfaces and polished steel details reflect the available light, while the natural textures of the woods prevent the interiors from feeling overly formal. The result is a setting that complements the yacht’s sporty personality while offering the more welcoming atmosphere expected from a boat intended for longer stays on board.

Power supported by intelligent onboard systems

The first Riva 96’ Argo Super is powered by two MTU 12V 2000 M96X engines, each delivering 2,000 horsepower. Equipment includes Seakeeper NG18 and NG10 gyroscopic stabilisers, the Watchit collision-prevention system, Xenta’s X-AID manoeuvring assistance with virtual anchoring and a stern thruster. The yacht is reported to reach a top speed of 30 knots and a cruising speed of 25 knots.

A measured evolution focused on life aboard

The new model is not simply a longer interpretation of the earlier Argo. Its development is most noticeable in the way guests move between the water, the outdoor decks and the interior. Spaces adapt more easily to different activities, while technology works quietly in the background to improve comfort and control. The Riva 96’ Argo Super advances the range without abandoning the restraint and visual continuity that have long defined the name.
